Sweater - Kit Allen

Tom and I bought our first "board book", I believe they're called. This is significant because it is an especially tough item to justify owning when you're childless. For some reason it strikes me as an equivalent to having bottles lying around the house or a package of diapers in the closet - it's just so BABY. But honestly I bought it for myself without the impression that a kid would enjoy it much at all. It consists of a bald child putting on clothes and acting out things, and interacting things with one word per page; words like, "socks", "scatter" and "scarecrow".
I may be underestimating board book readers but it seems like it might be a little challenging with the combination of verbs and nouns with no distinction between them. And the question, Why is she bald? might lead to a more mature discussion than is typically expected at this level of reading.
Do you see why I had to have it? Well, really it was the illustrations; so precious but modern - my own little art piece, no kid necessary.
