Fall

I love this weather. Tom and I left the windows open last night so we could lay and listen to the wind whipping through the alley. Yesterday it lifted leaves in huge swirls up over two story buildings as I walked through on my way to class.
After dark we took a walk - through the grass until we hit a muddy patch, past a soccer field where people were still playing, across a track, over a hurdle to the store where we bought yams and chips and beer brewed with spices and with coffee. On our way home every house with a light on looked so cozy, especially our apartment. Tom made dinner with sausage and bacon and we got under the blankets to eat it and drink our beer and watch Flight of the Concords.
It is so nice to spend time with someone who loves Fall as much as I do. And who tells me I have good form when I clear the hurdle. And who drags the old door out from behind the dumpster and heaves it onto his shoulder, as tired as he must be, and who carries the shopping bag home and then makes dinner.

I love this life.
