And they knew it was love

I'll start off by saying how proud I am of my little sister. Amelia is 22 and is one of the strongest people I've ever known - within my family I'm sure she'd get a unanimous vote: strongest, coolest under pressure and most mature for her age. She's been through so much and she seems to take it all in stride. And she has the best sense of humor. And she's beautiful. And I'm so excited to see how this little sassy-pants she's just given birth to is going to turn out. She's definitely going to be one of my favorite people on Earth and that's so amazing to think about now. What a gift!
Her name is Scarlet Anne or Annie, like our Aunt who passed away years ago and remains an inspiration to us because of her strength and her great sense of humor.
Annie was born on her due date, only 2-3% of children are. And because she was we we're all able to see her at the hospital on the day we arrived. She was born at 8:08 am and weighed 8lbs.
Amelia and Jesse were pulled over on their way to the hospital by a girl (now cop) Amelia went to school with.
Amelia had been up for 36 hours (and had given birth) when we arrived. She is always beautiful. She has our mother's skin and sweet oval face.
It was awful to see her in a hospital hooked up to things! But she looked great in that nursing smock and apparently everything went well and everyone at the hospital was great and falling in love with Scarlet all over the place.
And who can blame them? Amelia put her in a little 25 cent terry-cloth number and a jacket with matching bonnet.
Everyone fell in love...

Amelia has been such a wonderful mother since marrying Jesse. And Jesse has obviously been a wonderful father because Mitchell and Isaac could not be better kids. I adore them and I trust them implicitly with a little sister: she's got no choice but to turn out well and that is great to know.
I am so proud of Amelia, of the family she chose and the things she's done. I'm so happy she's MY sister and am blown away by God's love.
