Occupation: Hmmm

I'm not going to class today.

I'm up. I'm dressed. I'm wearing makeup (!) I made fancy tea in my thermos and everything! I just feel like with such a day in front of me (one in which I did all these things before 8 o'clock) class would be a waste of my time. (Not least of all because we're going over things I've already studied in more detail before anyway.) The apartment is so close to some semblance of completely organized, certain projects are so close to being done, I have been working on this so long... I really have to prioritize.

Yesterday Lane and I were talking about how I really have two jobs. When I list my occupation I always say "student", which is true enough. But then... what's all that other work I do?*Thinking*, *thinking*. And then I realized: I'm a housewife! Well... apartment-wife... Home-wife. Whatever I am, there's a lot to do. With no husband to speak of, being that he is almost literally always at work (or helping out someone from work... he's so wonderful), I do pretty much everything myself. Tom amazes me with the amount he is able to pitch in, (like last night when he took apart the pipes to find my earring that wasn't in there after all! Or screwed my light to the wall because I can't work a drill) but it's really not a lot, there's no way he could.

So, I'm workin' two jobs. They aren't very hard, sure, but I can't pretend that the things I do at home aren't important like the things I do at school (I actually think they're MORE important. Though, not usually during Finals Week).
Today I have to focus on my other job. Which includes writing this blog. I'm the Communications Director of the family too, you know. Once I'm done with this I'll do my maid job, then my professional organizer job, then my painter job, then my maid job some more, maybe more of my C.D. job, then my chef job, then? Well, maybe I'll do my student job after all of that.

I'll take this moment to raise a thermos of finely-made fancy tea to those who love what they do. (You know, most of the time.)

P.S. I'm also hair stylist to my whole (2 person) family. Pictures of that to follow.
