Things Tom bought

I still cannot show you my birthday gift from Tom as I don't have it yet. Tom had the print sent to Lane in case it came sooner than he wanted me to see it and she's getting it today! I'm so excited. But I don't know when the frame will come or when we'll decide where to hang it, so until then here are some other things that Tom bought that I love.
These are the little mittens he presented the pictures of my gifts in. Last year he did the same thing with a knit duck finger puppet. I don't think the theme is intentional. Although, I do love ducks! (and I had a cute goose experience today)
I had the mittens hanging like a banner across our mirror in celebration of my birthday but they soon fell down, scaring us both more than you'd think.

He also bought this box, not for my birthday, but I am excited about it. I think he bought it for a dollar, and I had to give it a good Parsley Plus cleanin', but it is sure to make my world a better place. And by "my world" I mean my apartment.
Aside from looking wonderfully like it came out of a barn, it fits over thirty DVDs pretty much perfectly. It's true, we have more like three hundred DVDs (I counted once but then I blocked the number out for the sake of my sanity) but we have about 10 DVDs and video games at a time sitting by the TV constantly. We keep the massive collection in the office and we are terrible about putting them away, let alone in alphabetical order! (Yeah, that was probably a waste of an evening.)
With new movies still coming in all the time, and Tom's and my general indecisiveness, it's often best to keep newest, the go-tos and the ones we've been vaguely considering, out of the madding crowd.
It even fits box sets.
I went through our collection and pulled out the most dilapidated (well-loved) cases The West Wing, The X-Files, Arrested Development. They may never be on the shelf again.

As usual, I am enjoying the simple things today.

As usual, I am enjoying the rain.
