I am wonderfully sore from my first yoga class yesterday. I am sore all around my shoulder blades - the place I get knots on top of knots in my muscles that eventually cause problems for my neck and arms and who knows what all. Though it was "Gentle Yoga", and I wasn't pushing myself particularly hard, the poses and movements that involved my back were affecting me right away - I could tell. In one particular pose I felt like my right arm was shorter than my left, my muscles in my shoulder are so ratcheted up!
On Monday I will go either to my first pilates class or to Gentle Yoga again, depending on Tom's schedule. Either way I'm excited! I am so hunched over so much of the time. Now that it's warming up I want to stretch, stretch, stretch out to my fullest extent, like all the growing things.
I am also inspired (it really doesn't take much) to clean out this apartment! To create a space in which Tom and I can move around freely and easily with everything we own nicely tucked away. Getting rid of things and finding places for things I don't want to get rid of are two of my favorite things. Times like now when we absolutely cannot buy anything non-essential (yoga is essential, I tell you!) are almost a relief... almost. I cleaned out the under-the-sink area in the kitchen today. In fact I've rearranged quite a bit in there (the kitchen), it's such a great way to go through what you have and see if it needs cleaning or getting rid of. Some got cleaned, some got cleaned and rejected, some got moved to a "better" place (that, I guess, is yet to be determined). All in all it was productive. Did I do my homework, you ask? Not so much. I still have hours yet until Tom is home. I should have done my drawings in daylight but... oops.
I do need to stay ahead of the game though, this week especially! Lane turns 25 on Wednesday and my company is requested that night for dining and game-playing. And yet I have 2 assignments due Thursday for one class. I meant to do those today, along with the two due on Tuesday... oops.
I'm going to go take a bath! One thing at a time.
