That nightstand

You may or may not have noticed the nightstand I included in my "Occupation" post. I did this to give you an example of some of the things I try to get done around here.

So, maybe "done" is a bit of an overstatement because I still have some touch-ups to do for the time being. And I will probably end up re-stripping the whole thing and starting over again because I didn't properly prime it to begin with (I'm new at this!).

But I was sick of having the door removed so yesterday, when we had a chance warm wind, I opened up all the windows in the office and finished the major bits of painting!

Today was wet so I couldn't do the touch-ups I hoped to (instead I've busied myself on my blog) but I did reattach the door and it's lookin' pretty good.

You can't really tell that the top is a light greenish color and the trim is more of a subtle mustard. But I can! Eventually I will paint the drawer the same green and the legs the same... gold? But for now I am so happy it no longer looks (at first glance) like a work in progress. There are too many of those around here.
