I was busy all day yesterday and with nothing that involved a computer. I spoke to human beings, humans beings I didn't know. I got a lot done.
I also decided sometime in the day that I wanted a candlelit dinner (which Tom gave two thumbs up) and showed up at home just in time to get everything ready for Tom's groceries so I could cook something special.
Tom came home happy to be out of the snow he'd worked in all day and bearing gifts of food that I hadn't been expecting (blood orange juice, a scone - it's wonderful to have someone know you like that). We lit 8 candles around our Chinese chicken salad (with fresh mandarin oranges Tom peeled and seeded himself, just because) and had a perfect dinner.
We spent the rest of the night eating Newman's O's and watching 30 Rock (which we didn't think we would like) and laughing out loud and being totally happy and in love - enjoying each other's company.
Today I am heading to the DMV(!), the only open one, in the mall(!!) because I have to renew my license in the next 9 days or I have to start from scratch with tests and all.
How quickly my life has taken a turn!
At least I have my memories...
