This morning I woke up from dreams of Mulder and Scully to a cold and sunny Saturday and my husband still at home. I was too warm and too sleepy to even think about getting out of bed and Tom seized the opportunity to go be sneaky in the office. He was wrapping my present. And when I say he was wrapping my present I mean he was rolling up pictures of the gifts that have yet to arrive and sticking them into a pair of child-sized, duck-faced mittens he'd bought me.
And because we were both so excited about the gift, and because we don't exactly know what we'll be doing on my birthday, or even tomorrow, I got to open it today. I didn't even have to get out of bed.
Rolled up inside the first mitten was a picture of something I'm always excited to see: a Signed & Numbered frame! But this one looked bigger than usual. It will in fact be the biggest one they've yet made. Custom made, for me, to fit something in particular.
And I had a feeling that I might know what that was.
It was, in fact, the print that I've been wanting for so long! Years? The very thing I was considering buying with my birthday money before I realized that I needed my birthday money for food and bills.
It was the naked baby crawling through the weird forest surrounded by tiny, stooped old people limited edition print from Chanabean!

Aren't you jealous?!
I could not love it more! But the fact that my most-beloved gave it to me, that he loves it; that he went to my favorite frame shop (probably my favorite shop: period) and had them make a frame just exactly perfect for it; makes it possibly the best gift ever given. Oh, yes, and it was delivered in little duck mittens. Yep! Best. *Sigh*!
I'm glad it isn't here yet so I'm not distracted by hanging decisions because today I have a lot to do - a research paper, laundry, full apartment cleaning... well, that's it really, but that is more than a day's worth and it's 11 o'clock.
