Day one

A picture of me and 10 facts.

1. I don't recognize myself with long hair anymore.

2. I listen to Harry Potter books on tape (yes, on cassette) all the time! And I put on shows I've watched a thousand times as background noise. I prefer this to music, I think it comes from a longing to have a bustling household.

3. I want lots of children and want to adopt.

4. The idea of the adoption process really intimidates me.

5. All formal processes intimidate me, even really minor ones.

6. I love to bake, cook and prepare a lot of things at once, I love the actual doing and to have a big stash of ready-to-eat food in the fridge. I dream of having this process down pat some day -some day soon.

7. My inspiration as regards this dream is Jill, owner, with her husband Gary, of The Humble Bagel, who made all the salads herself in big batches and seemed to love to do it. And they were good!

8. When Tom is not home I often eat in front of the computer, like I'm doing now. I made this hummus in a food-preparing extravaganza last night. Actually it was just hummus and pancake batter last night... Someday soon.

9. I am really loving primary and secondary colors right now and have been enamored of this apartment since I came across it on Apartment Therapy and wanted all this time to keep it a secret so I could keep borrowing from it without anyone being the wiser. But it's time to fess up.

10. I want to live on a farm, especially on raining days like today.
