The Ballet Russes and crepe suzette

Everyone in the blogosphere seems to be writing about the royal wedding this morning - so why should I pretend I'm above such things? I'm not. Well, I kind of am. That is to say, I wouldn't be writing about it at all if it weren't for how amused I am about one thing.
Ever since Kate Middleton showed up on the scene with her high cheek bones and substantial jawline; her bright, toothy smile; her dramatic eyebrows; her molded, but button-y nose; and her long, girl-next-door brown hair, I have forcibly been reminded of one person: my sister "Sue".

The best part about this connection dates back several years, when, I believe, Suzanne bet our sister Brooke $100 that she would marry Prince William. (Sue lost.) I didn't remember this bet specifically, but I have remembered the infatuation that brought it about. And to think, if only Suzanne were British, 7 inches taller, and not related to us, he might have been hers.
Though, as you can see from the picture above, Suzanne found someone else to love: Drew Brees. In fact, she willfully lost her bet about a year ago when, denying Prince William any future hope, she walked down the aisle in... hmmm... a dress that reminds me of something now...

what is it?... Well anyway, she looked beautiful.
And congratulations, Will and best wishes, Kate. (That was for you, Brooke.) I hope your marriage is long, happy and good for your country... but no pressure!
